ASC Leadership Majors receive the Michael Stern Hat Trick Award

Will Stott and Chase Skillman

The ASC Leadership Major is proud to award the Michael Stern Hat Trick award to two of its majors specializing in Business and Markets.

The Michael Stern Hat Trick Fund provides one or more merit-based scholarships to undergraduate students who, while enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences are both pursuing a degree in Leadership Studies and pursuing internships.

Will Stott is a junior at The Ohio State University studying Leadership Studies with a specialization in Business and Markets. A former Division II baseball athlete, Will transferred from Lake Erie College and has since been focused on building his professional career in business, sales, and entrepreneurship.

This summer, Will is interning at REAF Co, a real estate investment firm based in Columbus, Ohio, as a Sales Intern. The role directly aligns with his long-term goal of building wealth through real estate, a path he plans to pursue alongside a potential career as a military officer after graduation. Through this internship, Will hopes to develop hands on deal sourcing skills, learn from experienced investors, and lay the foundation for his future in real estate.

Chase Skillman is a second-year student majoring in both Marketing and Leadership. Chase chose Marketing after becoming fascinated in how to deal with customer needs and deliver a specific product for the consumer after being exposed to his mother’s career in Real Estate in his hometown of Seattle, Washington. Chase chose Leadership, with a specialization in Business and Markets, to gain a more holistic of what it means to be a leader in the work force generally, but also around his specific field. Chase is very involved at Ohio State, as an ambassador for the Leadership major, a brother of the Simga Phi Epsilon social fraternity, and through his engagement with the professional business fraternity, Gamma Iota Sigma.

This summer Chase will be working back in Seattle as an intern for Compass Real Estate, specifically under Team Foster. He is excited to learn more about the field of real estate and will be helping with marketing to ensure that a buyers’ specific needs will be met when they purchase their home. In particular, Chase plans to branch into the media aspects of real estate, running social media pages and other marketing paths with an additional focus on ensuring that AI search engines are recommending Team Foster over other realty groups in the Seattle area.
